Possibly North American? I would probably call both a ticket barrier and a ticket sales window, and also the niche where a bank teller sits, a wicket! In the Canadian context, I wonder if the usage of "wicket" is connected to to the usage of "guichet" for all of the above in Canadian French (plus for bank machines)?
