speculumannorum: a gull above a fountain (Seagull)
for Shivanee Ramlochan

The staring heterosexuals disembark,
having stared, openly, having picked the direction
for their stares: a few cubic inches,
mostly compacted of women; staring
like a newish smoking, asphyxiation by kilometres;
the disembarking heterosexuals pit
picador arms against the heads of females,
high-end climate-change cologne;
they have vetivered and tidalled out.
Two women, seated, remain
like money, like any underground objects,
like a philosophy of inexistence, like earliness, unperceived.
Soya latte meets box handbag
meets lack of glossy magazine
meets lightweight summer brastrap,
countenance facing another, scarlet and opposite.

2.9.18, river Dala near Leukerbad: will this be deemed unacceptably erotic by Tumblr’s censorbot? Only by trial will we find out.

Above, the Brienzersee looking toward Interlaken. Below, the train station from the ferry wharf (18.10.14).

Brienz train station and ferry dock are the same complex, wedged into the tiny slice of land between the lake and the Emmental Alps. In hindsight, I’m really sorry I didn’t take an hour or two to go up the Brienz-Rothorn railway before heading home.
