As if the Australian marriage plebiscite wasn’t awful enough I’m cursed to live through another in Switzerland! Maybe I won’t feel quite so bad about the homophobes to the right of me and homonormativity to the left if it’s not coming from “home”? Although my brief sojourn in Japan suggests foreignness doesn’t insulate me entirely from the sense of being hated on one side and smothered on the other.

26.12.20: May is a perfectly good time to post Xmas dinner pics, right? It was really nice to have a quiet 25th for myself and then friends for a proper feast on the 26th - but winter depression and deadlines chewed up my intentions to post about it!
